Wazoo

Wazoo is a research duo formed in 2020 thanks to the meeting of Marco Cherchi and Matteo Dessì, who found themselves living for work in the small island of Carloforte.
The two interested in sound experimentation, are found to explore various languages ranging from pure electroacoustic music to electronic music, environmental and noise without setting boundaries of style or form.
The work carried out by Wazoo passes through the analysis of improvisational sessions from which they extrapolate the timbres and forms that constitute the material that creates the sound tracks.
The instruments are many and often self-made, combining the pure analogue with the world of digital virtualization and pure electronics.
The stylistic references can be multiple or non-existent since the individual listening ranges from classical music to avant-garde music through Rock, Punk and electronic and everything that can be within these pseudo-definitions.
Wazoo aims to understand music as a moldable material, a “sound clay” to which give different forms.
The process of creation is rigorous and careful and the material created must have a rigorous and homogeneous meaning and concrete, are abolished mannerisms and technique in favor of the codification of its own rules that gradually make up the matrix of the compositions.
